Oshi Simpson is an Australian born photographer and artist who spent her youth exploring endless beaches and rainforests and surfing the waves of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Her lifestyle and artistic creativity were influenced early on by her tropical surroundings and travels, as well as her mother and grandmother, both accomplished artists.
Her love of art, nature, beauty, the ocean, and vibrant colors, led Oshi to the Cooloola Sunshine Institute of T.A.F.E where she studied Visual Fine Arts and Photography. She also took courses in the Computer Based Art and Design program at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She received numerous top finalist and merit awards in both Australia and the U.S for her work in photography and other visual art mediums.
Oshi moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 2006 where she still resides today and continues to pursue her artistic dreams. She uses both traditional photographic film and digital modalities and her subject matter is as varied as the moods and light of the day.
“I am inspired every day by my surroundings, different cultures, nature, people, conversations, music, colors, dreams. The possibilities are endless…”
